If you have a 696/796/1100 Monster, this is by far the FIRST upgrade you should make. Hands down, the most significant performance upgrade I've done to the bike (2013 Monster 1100 EVO) which includes Termi slip-ons, Ducati Performance Race ECU and a Rapid Bike upgrade.
The kit includes a few screws, an air filter and Power Up Kit that transforms your OEM intake into a COLD AIR INTAKE torque producing MACHINE.
Don't take my word for it, see for yourself. Go ahead and pop off those side air intake vents and look inside. See that massive piece of plastic with the tiny holes on each side you can barely stick your pinky finger in? That's your OEM intake. Your engine is suffocating... literally suffocating. Breathe new life into her by installing this kit, and you'll instantly notice the difference. I was absolutely, positively blown away... pun intended.
Not at all rocket science. Straight forward installation involving a Dremel to remove the annoying plastic (in some cases, the plastic will simply pop off with a screw driver, see photos^^^, and if not, then the Dremel is Plan B. Mine was glued down rather tight, so Dremel activation commenced), a few basic hex keys for the bolts, seat, gas tank and fairings, cordless drill/driver, a few clean shop rags, and a vacuum to ensure you clean up all of the debris out of the air box. ***Note of importance from Captain Obvious*** Do NOT under any circumstance leave any debris in the air box***
Trust me. Get it. Don't think about it. Just do it. You'll be naming your baby after me while flying thru the twisties with your hair on fire being chased by the neighbors dog. You can thank me later.
