The XD-5 is the latest evolution in adventure helmet technology, engineered for riders who demand versatility without compromising on safety or comfort. Built with a PB-cLc² shell assembled from an assortment of high-performance materials, the forehead area is reinforced by a super fiber belt—a design inspired by the way bands strengthen a barrel—to provide superior structural integrity.
One of the most significant advancements is the VAS-A shield system, which has been lowered to improve the helmet's "glancing off" ability, maximizing energy dissipation during an impact. This system allows for easier and faster shield swaps, as the shield can be attached or removed without the need for tools. The redesigned peak requires only one screw on each side for installation and is optimized for effective ventilation, high-speed stability, and a greater range of adjustability to block the sun while resisting buffeting.
Ventilation is a core focus of the XD-5 design. The helmet features a multi-stage airflow system including:
• Mouth and Inner Shutters: These work in conjunction to allow precise control over airflow. When the outer shutter is open and the inner is closed, air is directed toward the shield to reduce fogging; with both open, air flows directly to the rider.
• Front Logo Duct: This innovative vent allows for direct airflow to the forehead area regardless of the rider's position, without compromising the shell's protective capabilities.
• AR Spoiler: Positioned specifically for adventure riding, the spoiler reduces fatigue from turbulent air and actively draws out hot air from the crown area.
The VAS-A Max-Vision shield preserves a wide field of view, and the included Pinlock® insert is highly effective at resisting fogging in extreme conditions. Inside, the helmet features an odor-resistant interior to keep you fresh during long-distance journeys.
